Concrete contractor in Wellington, FL - slabs that start with the ground
Optimum Wellington Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Wellington, FL. We build driveways, patios, pool decks, steps, slabs and foundations here, and I explain the job in plain words before any concrete goes in.

From driveways to footings. Here's what we build in Wellington.
Concrete driveway building
A new driveway when the old one has sunk, cracked through or started pooling water near the garage.
Concrete patio construction
If you want a flat place to sit out back, we pack the base and pour a patio to fit.
Stamped concrete services
Concrete pressed with a pattern and colored to look like stone or brick, for a patio or walk that should look finished.
Concrete sidewalk building
Walks from the driveway to the door or around the house, worth replacing once slabs heave and someone trips.
Garage floor concrete
A new garage slab, or a replacement when the old floor is cracked, chipping or dusting under your car.
Decorative concrete
Color, exposed stone and patterned finishes. Good when plain gray won't suit the front of the house.
Concrete retaining walls
Where a yard steps down or soil is pushing toward a slab, a concrete wall holds the ground in place.
Concrete floor installation
Interior slabs for additions, workshops and outbuildings, poured flat and level so the floor finish goes on right.
Concrete pool decks
The deck around your pool, with a textured top for wet feet and a slope that carries splash water off.
Concrete steps construction
Front or back steps, rebuilt when they've cracked, pulled away from the house or have risers that don't match.
Slab foundation building
The slab a house addition, garage or barn sits on, laid over a packed base with steel set inside it.
Foundation installation
Foundations for new buildings and additions, planned from the ground up because everything above depends on them.
Concrete parking lot building
For a business or a long shared drive, we build lots and aprons thick enough for the traffic they'll carry.
Concrete footings
Footings under walls, posts, columns and additions. They spread the weight so what's on top is less likely to sink.
Foundation raising
When a slab or foundation has sunk at one corner, we look at why before lifting it back toward level.
Concrete cutting
Sawing through slabs for new plumbing, a wider driveway, a doorway or a clean edge where old concrete meets new.
How we run a Wellington job. Paperwork first, then the ground.
When a job needs a permit, we pull it as your licensed contractor and handle the paperwork. I check what yours needs at the start, since that can move the start date. You can check us, too, with the state licensing board and the Village's business tax office.
Price follows the slab's size, how much old concrete comes out, how much base we dig and pack, and the finish you pick. The schedule turns on that prep and on curing, the days concrete needs to harden before you use it. I walk you through the options on site and put what's included in writing, the same as in West Palm Beach.

(561) 268-0415Concrete is hard to fix. Get the Wellington ground right first.
When a crew rakes the dirt level instead of digging it out and packing it, the slab settles with the dirt and cracks. Pour in the midday heat and the top can turn weak and dusty later, and skip the drainage check and you can end up with a slab that runs water toward your house.
So the base is where we spend the time, even though you can't see it on day one and it's the first thing a tight budget cuts. A pretty finish on a soft base is still a cracked slab.
Outside Wellington? We build in nearby cities too.
We're based in Wellington and also work in Royal Palm Beach and Greenacres, along with other cities nearby. If yours isn't listed below, call and ask.
Hiring concrete work in Wellington? Start with these answers.
Read the answers below, and if your question isn't covered, call us and ask. I'm happy to go over it twice.
Will my new concrete driveway crack like the old one?
It may still get a few fine cracks, because concrete shrinks as it hardens. We cut control joints, shallow grooves that give it a straight line to crack along, and set rebar, steel bars that hold the slab together, where your driveway calls for it.
How long until I can drive on a new driveway in Wellington?
Longer than you'll wait to walk on it, because concrete keeps curing, slowly hardening, for days after the pour, and a car on a young slab can break the edges. I'll give you the walking and driving days for your slab before we pour, since its thickness and mix change them.
Does a concrete contractor in Wellington need a business tax receipt?
Yes. Palm Beach County's tax collector says anyone selling services in the county needs a local business tax receipt, including one-person and home-based businesses. The county also says the receipt doesn't guarantee the quality of the work, so check the contractor's state license as well.
Does a Florida certified contractor license cover work in Wellington?
Yes. Florida's contractor licensing portal says a certified license is statewide and covers work anywhere in the state. A registered license only covers the cities or counties where the contractor holds a local certificate of competency, so ask which one your contractor has and look it up there.
Do concrete contractors in Palm Beach County have to be insured?
Yes. Palm Beach County says its contractors must be certified and insured, and its contractor regulations office enforces state and county rules on them. We're licensed and fully insured, and you can ask to see it before any work starts.
